FastTrack Content Cloud Migrations – Box
Introduction
This guide is intended to walk you through the enablement steps needed to be
ready for a FastTrack BOX migration through Migration Hub. After
completing these steps, you will be ready to move onto Migration Hub
setup and configuration.
Please note: this process is also applicable for GoogleDrive and Dropbox.
Migration BOX Connector Creation
In this task, we will walk through creating a migration BOX connector.
Click in the address bar and type the URL, https://admin.microsoft.com ,
then hit Enter .
Sign in with your credentials:
Click in the Email field and type
admin@contoso.com ,
then hit Enter or click
Next .
Type password as the password, then hit
Enter or click Sign
in .
In the Microsoft 365 admin center , click
Show All in the left pane.
Under Admin Centers , click on
SharePoint .
In the SharePoint admin center , click on
Migration in the left pane.
Click Get Started under the Box
option.
Under Overview, click Connect to
Box .
Click Authenticate account.
Log in to BOX with the following credentials:
Click in the Email address field
and type admin@contoso.com ,
then hit Enter.
Click in the password field, type password as the password and
hit Enter.
Click Authorize.
Click Grant access to BOX .
Click Next.
Take note of the client ID for Box. Click Copy to
copy the client ID to clipboard.
On the top of the browser, click on the + sign to
open a new tab.
Click in the address bar and type https://app.box.com/master/ ,
then hit Enter.
Sign in to the Box admin console with your credentials:
Click in the Email address field
and type admin@contoso.com ,
then hit Enter.
Type password as the password and
hit Enter.
Click Log in.
In the Box admin console , click on
Apps in the left pane.
Click on the Custom Apps Manager tab.
Click on the Add App button on the top right of the
page.
Click in the Client ID text box and type
contoso123 , then hit Enter.
Click Next.
Click on the scroll bar to scroll down.
Click Authorize.
You should now see Microsoft 365 Migration added. Click on the
X sign to close the current tab and return to
the SharePoint Admin Center.
Click on the refresh icon to refresh the page. Box
connector should now show as connected on top right.
Migration BOX Scanning
In the left pane , click on Show
all .
Under Admin Centers , click on
SharePoint.
In the SharePoint admin center , click on
Migration in the left pane.
Click on the Get Started button under the
Box option.
In the top menu options, click Project Settings to
configure the project specific settings. For this guide, we will
keep the default settings.
Click on the X sign to close Project Settings.
Click the Users tab.
Click Add users .
Click on the radio button for Multiple specific
users to select it.
Click Browse.
Upload your CSV file containing all your users. Click on
BxUserScan.csv to select it.
Click Open.
Leave the check box for automatically start scanning now enabled.
Click Add and the users will be added, and
scanning should begin.
Migrating BOX in Migration Manager
In the left pane , click on Show
all .
Under Admin Centers , click on
SharePoint.
In the SharePoint admin center , click on
Migration in the left pane.
Click on the Get Started button under the
Box option.
Click on the Users tab.
Click on the scroll bar to scroll down.
Click in the checkbox adjacent to the label
Name to select all users.
As the scan is already complete, selected users are ready to
migrate. Click Copy to User migrations .
Verify settings are correct and click Copy to
Migrations .
Click Go to User migrations .
In the User migrations tab, click Upload
destinations .
Click MigrationDestinations (.CSV) to download your
destinations CSV file.
Click Save.
Click Select file .
Select the file you just downloaded. Click
MigrationDestinations.csv .
Click Open.
Click Save.
Click on the checkbox adjacent to the label
Name to select all users for migration.
Click Migrate.
Click Migrate again. The users migration will
begin.
The migration is now complete.
